Needing a vacation from your vacation?
With an average available vacation time of only 13 days a year in the US, many people have a tendency to plan as much as possible into a few days and return exhausted. Many of the ideas under Culture and Adventure can also be relaxing. How relaxing is up to you. If you can, consciously detach from technology while you are away. Just as you build in time for sightseeing and activities, build in relaxation time too.
Bermuda
Bermuda…pink sand beaches, azure blue waters, white stucco houses dotting the hillside, lush flora and fauna, friendliest taxi drivers of any country I have been to, bobbies directing traffic and men in blue blazers and Bermuda shorts… what more do you need for a relaxing destination. Do long connecting flights stress you out? Bermuda can have you on the beach in 2 hours via a non-stop flight.
Star Clipper Ship
Would you like to raise the sails on a clipper ship? Would you like to climb the mast or lay in the bow sprit nets? Would you like to hear tales of the sea from your captain? A Star Clipper cruise can fulfill these dreams and more. As I stood atop the volcanic island of Santorini in the Greek Isles, I was pleased to be able to say that I was a passenger on the sleek and beautiful clipper ship rather than the larger cruise ship. Sailing with them in Tahiti or the Caribbean would be equally as appealing for those who love being on open seas and smelling the fresh sea air.
